Eric Standley is an Associate Professor of Studio Art for the School of Visual Arts at Virginia Tech. He received his B.F.A. from the Massachusetts College of Art and his M.F.A. from Savannah College of Art and Design. He sleeps on rare occasions and dreams that with hard work and concentration he might one day become a modernist. He holds allegiance to a faith of his own construction, which is reinvented on a daily basis.
"The use of technological in my art practice does not save me time, but rather provides me with the capacity to increase complexity. As I gain proficiency in the mechanical aspects of my process, I expand my ability to pre-visualize and subsequently dream of new directions and higher stakes. I am interested in collaborations that would incorporate this general philosophy while strategically fusing media and research agendas." - Eric
