Collaboration

We have been collaborating with faculty in our Northern Virginia Research Center who are simulating the radiation and safety of spent nuclear fuel rods. The goal of this project to develop and test an environment for the creation of a collaborative research and training platform for nuclear waste management. We believe that a Mirror Worlds in this domain can benefit both education and research as follows:

1. offering theoretical and experimental courses, especially distance learning courses and those with laboratories or experiments involving hazardous materials

2. training of professionals

3. analysis of results of modeling and simulation of systems

4. development of tools for management of emergencies

We have recently demonstrated simulation results published for the HTML5 Mirror Worlds client: users in Blacksburg and NCR collaborating on the same virtual shared model!
