8:30 – 9:30am in the ICAT Learning Studio, 253 Moss Arts Center
Description: The university is chock full of opportunities for faculty and students to extend the reaches of their research within and beyond the university. Specifically, the notion of broader impacts is of critical importance to major funders, such as the NSF and NIH. The Center for Research in SEAD Education (formerly VT STEM) is engaged in a multi-pronged approach to identify the university's impact as well as to strategically align engagement opportunities in PK12 STEM/SEAD education with university-level research. This session will describe the mission, vision, and most up-to-date report on the goals of this new transdisciplinary research center within ICAT.
Speaker: Liesl Baum, ICAT Senior Fellow and CRSE
