This Edge I Have to Jump

"This edge I have to jump" is a multi-screen, site specific video installation on the illusory and idiosyncratic nature of the creative process. The installation is a kinetic conversation, an immersive meditation, and an investigation into the compulsion to make, invent, and perform what otherwise would be intangible.

IDEAStudio launches special study course: Bridging the Arts, Sciences, and Humanities through Creative Technologies

The goal of the Virginia Tech Text Analytics (VT-TAT) toolbox is to provide a web-based suite of text analytics tools for acquiring, transforming, and analyzing web and social media data. VT-TAT aims to enhance the accessibility and scalability of PamTAT, a functional Excel-based text analytics toolbox developed by the Pamplin College of Business, with support from Pamplin’s Center for Business Intelligence and Analytics, and Deloitte.

To help lower the learning curve for 3D modeling, we have been exploring more natural 3D interaction in this domain. Our key insight is that a physical input device made of flexible material can be directly molded and shaped by the user into a representation of the desired surface.

Salt Marsh Suite

Organized in five movements, Salt Marsh Suite is an original video/sound installation and performance. Based on field observation, 3D laser scanning, imagery, and sound recordings collected in a North Carolina coastal estuary, the piece connects art and science, weaving the lines between the lives of the marsh animals and plants and the strong environmental (and human) forces that shape their existences.
